Fire door inspections that make defects, priorities and next actions clear.
Apex inspects fire doors for visible condition, correct operation and common compliance issues, then provides a report your team can use to plan remedial works.
What Apex checks during a fire door inspection.
The purpose of an inspection is to identify visible issues that may affect how a fire door performs as part of the building's fire strategy.
Each door is assessed in a structured way so findings can be recorded consistently. Where defects are identified, Apex highlights the issue, explains why it matters and provides practical remedial recommendations.

Send your building type, site location and approximate door count. Apex can advise the best next step.
Your report should be useful beyond the day of inspection.
Apex reports are designed to support the people who need to make decisions: responsible persons, facilities managers, landlords, managing agents and maintenance contractors.
- Door-by-door findings with clear location references.
- Photographs of relevant defects and condition concerns.
- Prioritised remedial recommendations where issues are identified.
- Records that can support maintenance planning and internal compliance files.
Suitable for one door, one building or a wider property portfolio.
Apex can inspect individual problem doors, full buildings or multiple properties where a consistent report format is needed.

How often should fire doors be inspected?
The right inspection frequency depends on building type, use, risk assessment findings, occupancy and the amount of wear the doors experience.
For many premises, fire doors should be checked regularly as part of planned fire safety management. In certain residential buildings in England where the top storey is above 11m, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require best endeavours to check flat entrance fire doors at least every 12 months and communal fire doors at least every 3 months.
